Aluminum incense holder

This project merges ephemeral tradition with a durable, modern aesthetic, culminating in an incense holder that elegantly captures time, scent, and ash. Its aluminum body stands tall and minimal, echoing an amphora’s timeless silhouette while ensuring robust longevity. Within the vertical tube, residual oils from the incense accumulate, extending the fragrance long after the ember fades and transforming a fleeting moment into a lasting sensory memory.

Inspiration

Ash often scatters, incense burns too quickly if there's wind, and the interaction feels passive—with few meaningful steps.

Production

Working on Scendure in the metal shop taught me that thoughtful design begins with a deep understanding of material behavior—how it bends, joins, and ultimately shapes both form and function.
